After changing my dietary habits over two years, I have come to the conclusion that if we take care of the 6 basic foods (Oil, salt, sugar, milk, fruits, vegetables ) in our regular diet, we could lead a healthy life. It is extremely important to eat natural, seasonal foods (fruits and vegetables) which are grown locally.

Natural food choices are those that have endured a minimum amount of processing and do not contain any chemical preservatives. An easy way to consume more natural foods is to steer clear of processed, refined, and packaged food products, and try to eat foods in their original state. Keep in mind that knowing ‘the source’ of these products is of utmost importance. Ensure that you purchase these ‘natural products’ from verified sources.
It is good to use cold pressed / wood pressed oils / Virgin oils for cooking. These unprocessed oils are full of good fats, rich in antioxidants, and heart friendly. Avoid the use of refined, processed oils in your diet.
Rock salt or "Sendha Namak’ is the purest form of salt – unprocessed and raw, devoid of environmental pollutants and chemical components. It contains 84 out the 92 trace elements required by the human body including potassium, iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium, copper and so on. It is a superior salt according to Ayurveda.
Make it a habit to use ‘Khandsari sakhar’ (traditional unprocessed sugar) which is full of minerals and nutrients. It definitely is a healthier choice than refined, chemically treated sugar.
Milk is an integral part of the Indian diet. The Indian / Pure Desi cow milk / A2 milk has health benefits in abundance. It is a rich source of A2 type of beta casein protein, calcium for healthy bones and teeth, Vitamins B12 for healthy cells, Vitamin A for good eyesight and iodine which regulates the body’s rate of metabolism. The regular consumption of this milk increases the good (HDL) cholesterol and improves the overall immune function of the body.
